NewOpera CO – Familjen/Work In Progress
Niklas Rydén är mitt i arbetet med sitt stora operaverk Familjen, som handlar om barn, vuxna och deras relationer. Han har samlat ett femtiotal berättelser om familjeliv från verkligheten som bildar ett mångfasetterat collage av mänskligt liv. Under hösten komponerar Rydén musiken och denna kväll visas skisser för första gången för publik. Kom och ta del av en opera i vardande!
Ur librettot:
– Jag var fjorton. Och så började det igen. Jag tänkte som vanligt. Skall jag ta konfrontation eller skall jag gömma mig på rummet? Då hörde jag slagen. Rusade dit och gick emellan.
– Gubbjävel! Du slår inte en gång till.
– Han tog mitt hår och dunkade mitt huvud i dörren.
– Du skall fanimej inte lägga dig i din lilla skit. Och tyck inte synd om dig själv. Det är inte mer synd om dig än om en skiten liten mus.
– Och vad gjorde din mamma.
– Hon bara gick iväg. Sade aldrig något. Ville inte prata.
Familjen har premiär våren 2016.

NewOpera CO – The Family/Work In Progress
Niklas Rydén is in the midst of the work with his big opera project The Family, which deals with children, adults and their relationships. He has gathered some fifty stories about family life from the reality that is now forming a multifaceted collage of human life. During the autumn Rydén is composing the music and this evening he will show sketches for the first time for the audience. Come and take part of an opera in the making!

– I was fourteen. And so it began again. I thought as usual. I will take the confrontation or shall I hide myself in the room? Then I heard the blows. Rushed there and went between.
– Old bastard! You do not strike again.
– He took my hair and slapped my head in the door.
– You must not add up in to this your little shit. And do not feel sorry for yourself. There are no more sorry for you than it’s for a crap little mouse. Fuck you…
– And what did your mother do?
– She just walked away. Never said anything. Did not want to talk.
The Family will premiere in spring in 2016. With the support of KUR, Gothenburg, the Arts Council, the VGR and the Dramatists Association.
