Destination Atalante är Atalantes mötesplats för publik och konstnärer inom scenkonst, musik, film, text och bild. Två kvällar under våren bjuder vi in artister från olika konstområden. Här får de berätta om sina konstnärsskap, visa utdrag från saker som är under arbete och samtala med publiken.
Destination Atalante sätter mötet och samtalet mellan konstnärer, artister och publiken i centrum och vill uppmuntra det gränsöverskridande, och inspirera till nya samarbeten.

Johan Zetterquist, konst – Proposals for Public Art
Zetterquist är en konceptuell konstnär, han tänker ut förslag och design för det offentliga rummet, vars utförande är ett steg bort från verkligheten. Hans ambitiösa, absurdistiska förslag kan ta form av texter, ritningar, fotografier, modeller, föreställningar, ljudkonst och storskaliga installationer och skulpturer både inom och utanför galleriet. Hans ämnen rör sig ofta inom den urbana kontexten och konfronterar vår förståelse av skillnaden mellan ”naturen” och det konstgjorda. Hans verk gör uppror mot samhällsregler och de offentliga kungörelsernas disciplinerade röst, och vägrar konformitet och fröjdas över hypotetiska verkligheter.
Gabriel Edvinsson, musik – High Energy
Tag ett djupt ande-tag ett djupt andetag ett djupt andetag…
En loop, en mening eller text som slutar precis som den börjar, skapar en cirkulär fonetisk fälla, som verkar omöjlig att ta sig ur. I en intervju pratar Brian Eno om skapandeprocessen och plockar fram sin skruvmejselsamling och konstaterar att alla ser likadana ut i skaftet men att själva handtaget aldrig ser likadant ut. Människan behöver kanske bara en version av dessa verktyg men ändå förskjuter vi objekten med små förändringar över tid. Likt solen och alla planeter korsar vi fram genom rymd och tid i en spiralformad flykt. En upprepning i form av år, månader, dagar och sekunder med små förändringar, som en loop, en mening eller text som slutar precis som den börjar.
Vittra Danskollektiv, performance – A Tale of Two Idiots
Vittra Danskollektiv är ett svenskt dans-och performance kollektiv som arbetar med nutida dans, improvisation och fysisk teater som bas. I stycket “The Tale Of Two Idiots” möter vi Employee 7528 och Employee 6, som båda vill bli månadens anställd och är villiga att göra vad som än som krävs för att bli det. Även om det innebär att bli tvingad till att fika med sin fiende på jobbet, som också råkar vara världens största idiot.
Teresia Björk, koreografi – u&me
Teresia Björk arbetar som dansare, koreograf och har varit verksam nationellt och internationellt de senaste 35 åren. På Destination samtalar hon med Neta Norrmo om ett par av sina pågående processer. Hon visar även ett utdrag ur “u&me” – ett solo med dans och komik och som interagerar med publiken. Vi bjuds in till en människas imaginära värld av skog, stenar, vatten och smaksensationer från ett ensamt liv på en soffa, väntrum eller är det ett hem?

Destination Atalante is Atalante’s meeting place for audiences and artists in performing arts, music, film, text and visual arts. During two evenings this spring we invite artists from different art fields to talk about their work, show excerpts from pieces in progress and talk to the audience.
Destination Atalante puts meetings and the conversations between artists and audience in focus and wants to encourage cross–border innovation, and inspire new collaborations.

Johan Zetterquist, art – Proposals for Public Art
Conceptual artist Johan Zetterquist devises proposals and designs for public space whose execution is one step removed from reality. His ambitious, absurdist proposals may take the form of texts, drawings, photography, models, performances, sound art and large-scale installations and sculptures both within and outside of the gallery. His subjects often exist within the urban context and confront our understanding of the distinction between “nature” and the man-made. His works rebel against societal rules and the orderly voice of public announcements, refusing conformity and rejoicing in hypothetical realities.
Gabriel Edvinsson, music – High Energy
Inhale deeply, exhale and breathe in-hale deeply, exhale and breathe inhale deeply, exhale and breathe in…
A loop, a sentence or text that ends just like it begins, creates a circular phonetic trap from which it seems impossible to get out of. In an interview, Brian Eno talks about the creative process and pulls out their screwdriver collection and notes that all of them look the same in the shaft, but that the handle itself never looks the same. Humans may need only one version of these tools, but still, we gradually dislocate these objects with small changes over time. Like the sun and all the planets, we fly through space and time in a spiral escape. A repetition in the form of years, months, days, and seconds with small changes, like a loop, a sentence, or text that ends just like it begins.
Vittra Dance Collective, performance – A Tale of Two Idiots
Vittra Dance Collective is a Swedish dance and performance collective that works with contemporary dance, improvisation and physical theater as a base. In the piece “The Tale Of Two Idiots”, we meet Employee 7528 and Employee 6, both wanting to become the employee of the month, and being willing to do whatever it takes to do so. Even if that means being forced to fika with their workplace enemy, who also happens to be the world’s biggest idiot.
Teresia Björk, koreografi – u&me
Teresia Björk works as a dancer, choreographer and has been active nationally and internationally for the past 35 years. At Destination, she talks to Neta Norrmo about a couple of her ongoing processes. She will also show an excerpt from “u&me” – a solo with dance and comedy that interacts with the audience. We are invited to a person’s imaginary world of forest, stones, water and taste sensations from a lonely life on a sofa, waiting room or is it a home?
